HGS isn't a big outfit and doesn't want to be. When you contact HGS, you'll talk to me, and I'll be the one on the water with you. If your group is more than three anglers, we'll use quality guides I've known for years - you won't get just anyone 'off the rack.'

After college in Colorado, I started fishing Montana off and on in the mid-70's, spending seven years exploring every piece of southwest Montana water I could find using a map or directions scribbled on a cafe napkin by a friendly local.
In 1983, my wife, Pat, and I decided to drop the long interstate commute and moved to Gallatin Gateway, Montana. After another year of non-stop 'fish research', I started HGS. Now, you and I can continue that all-important scientific inquiry as a research team. I learn something every day I'm on the water - you can too.
